40+ years working within the Leisure and Tourism industry within public, private, and charitable sector.
Held a variety of roles at a Senior Level including General Manager, Contract Manager, Head of Service, Leisure Investment Manager, Managing Director and Leisure Consultant.
Career stated as a Duty Officer and progressed through management across a variety of organisations and locations. Gained experience working abroad and diversified into Tourism and Transport in the role of General Manager of Mersey Ferries. Partly retired from a Head of Service role in 2017, only to return in 2023 to transfer a privatised public leisure services back inhouse for a London Borough. Now providing consultancy and advisory services for the industry and working in an Interim Managing Director role for a local authority trading company.
Achievements included the first Investor In People Award to a leisure provider in the UK, first Charter Mark to a leisure organisation in the UK and Sport England Centre of the Year.
I served as a director representing Local Authorities on the Board of UK Active for six years and a Director and Company Secretary for the award-winning Formby Pool Trust for over twenty years.
